53 Chev

This is the new addition to our growing transportation list. It is a 1953 Chev. Just exactly what we need. : ) but anyway here it is. Now we (hubby) has to decide....fix it, hot rod it, or sell it?? I vote to fix it enough to drive and then sell it as fast a possible. It isn't the car he wants as a hot rod and therefore does not deseve any more than necessary spent on repairs/upgrades. But we shall see

......we need another vehicle to drive.

Getting ready for another trip....

We are getting ready for another adventure. Back to one of the places we love the most. We have been there in all seasons....snow, cold, fall, spring and scalding hot summer. It is still beautiful. The way of the sky makes the view of the lake. Because the lake is so clear (snow run-off only) and so deep.....the waters take on the colors of the sky. If the sky if cloudless...the lake will be the deepest blue. If the sky has dark brooding the lake will be slate grey with dark depths. Wispy clouds bring a stainless steel glow.

What will it be like this time?? We will have to wait to see......

but you will too! : p

There are several dozen blogs that I have gotten in the habit of following. I try and read them every day or so but I got really behind when we were on vacation and have been trying to slowly catch up. Some are so long that I am only doing one a day while I keep up with the ones I have already gotten too. The blogging community is so great. It has been wonderful to see the great pictures and ideas of these crafty, artful, intelligent people. There are blogs from all over the world. Young and old. Married and single. With and without children. Families close and those that are living in a location far from their family. It has been great to see that I am not the only one to see the beauty in a leaf, a spool of thread or an old box of junk! I am including some of these wonderful sites here for you to look at. Some I look at and think....I wish I was just half as talented. Some.... I wish I had thought of that. And some.....That is exactly what I would have done!!! It has made me feel that I am not alone 'in the way I look at the world at large and the things that are small'.

But over all, even though the world is great beyond belief....the world of electronics brings it to our own front yard.

days going by....

 

It seems as though days go by faster when you want them to slow down and be able to enjoy them. This has been a really wonderful summer cool days and even cooler evenings. I have been able to have the windows open and the air conditioner shut off a lot! And even during the days it has been most enjoyable.....so....why are the weeds in my flower beds so thick? and why am I so far behind in sewing, cleaning, laundry, quilting, etc etc. Could it be because it has been too nice to work?? Could it be a case of 'spring fever' at the end of summer?? Probably both and maybe some other great excuses! : )

I am sitting on the deck and the sun is coming up....won't be long til it is too hot to be out here. Despite the great temperature, it is really humid this morning. In setting outside and enjoying the mornings.....I have noticed for a couple of days that the squirrels are cutting the green acorns off a large oak tree.

When all else is quiet except for a few birds and bugs.....it is really noticeable when acorns from one tree keep hitting the ground. Makes me wonder if they are just having 'a little fun' or something more sinister......winter coming too soon?.....or is it staying too long? ?

I have a long list of things to get done this morning.....but first just a bite of breakfast..... Nothing fancy. Fresh juicy peach, hot buttered toast and raspberry jam....and hot Lady Gray tea. Mmmmm! I just love cool summer mornings......

It has been a month??!!

Today is August 2! I have not done any posting for over a month. Why? Don't know.... Guess I was so busy that I did not have the time. Maybe it is good to get away for a while. I know that several of the blogs that I follow ...... have done the same thing. And all mostly in the summer. Think that is because of the great weather and the ability to get outside and see things, do things. Visit family. Pull weeds(in between the rain and hot humid sunny days).
I have been glad to have the time off but in looking at it can't say that I have actually gotten a lot done..... Maybe that should be the point after all.
In the last few weeks we have received the news that several family and friends are having health issues. Some are potentially serious, and some are life-threatening. I will be keeping each and every one in my thoughts and prayers.
Anyway, it is back to work and getting back to some kind of schedule. First just a quick post for family and friends and then off to get ready for the week. Just the kinds of things that have to be done in this life.
