walk with the animals?

Walking in the bright sun is wonderful.  This was a short slow walk.  Kat-among-us and Shelby were in no hurry and I had a camera.....made for slow moving.  But it was also great for fresh air and thinking.  Hope that the rest of the fall is just like today!

Someone was not happy with us being out and about!!

Taking a walk got put to the background with the weather and life stepping in.  We have had a terrible problem with my Aunt's health and had to put everything else on hold.  I will be trying to get back into some kind of regular schedule and yet I know that..............
.........things have a way of getting out of control.........quickly!

taking a walk

Shelby, Kat-among-us and I have been meaning to start walking in the mornings for a long time.  Well, today is the day!  I am going to take my camera along and take pictures of the things we see.  It is early fall (just officially started yesterday!) and the leaves are just beginning to turn.  There are still flowers but the colder nights will soon put an end to them.  Right now........ I will enjoy them.
Obviously.... Shelby and Kat-among-us are not wanting to take a walk.....they would just as soon curl up or stretch out in the sun and take a nap!!

How we spent our Sunday.....

Our first Christmas in our new house.....we had a live tree.   We planted it and watched it grow as a calendar of the years we have lived in one place.
All those years it stood as a sentinel in our yard.

Lost in a matter of a couple of weeks.

Gone in a few hours.

But not forgotten.

Labor Day ~ Virginia City NV parade

Our Labor Day was spent at Virginia City's parade.  The old streets were full of people and automobiles.  There were new autos,

old autos,
hot rods,
all kinds of protection,
horses,
and a camel!
The fine citizens of Virgina City turned out in their Sunday best.

The local Civil War re-enactors came.
A battle was fought on main street.

(Not all the costumes were historically correct!)

Several volleys were fired.
The lines slowly moved closer.
It was loud.
It was smokey.
But in the end...no one was seriousely hurt.
At the close of the day, the sun was shining, the mountains were beautiful, and a good time was had by all.
