SAPA Scholarship quilt

This years quilt is a traditional red, white, and blue medallion-style.  But first.....
the back is just as nice as the front.
The backing and the front are always coordinated.
The background quilting is a star pattern in red thread on a dark blue material with white dots.  Here you can also see the diagonal stripe binding.
The front is my favorite.
This is one of my favorite star blocks.  Just four pieced blocks joined together to make the center medallion.  Then there is a series of both pieced and straight borders.  The whole medallion was then set on point.
Well... now it is on it's way to the SAPA convention to be raffled for the scholarship program.

Finished.....

and on its way.

A trip to Kansas City....

I am having a great trip to Kansas City.  We are staying at Country Club Plaza....great stores (really expensive!) and food...bistros, cafes, restraunts.  Have walked up and down the streets and in and out of the stores....love the looks of the old/new buildings.
